Warranty Policy

Last Updated: 22 August 2026

At Container Sales Australia, we are committed to supplying products that meet the standards required under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

This Warranty Policy explains any voluntary warranty provided by Container Sales Australia and should be read together with our Terms & Conditions and Refunds & Returns Policy.

1. Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

These consumer guarantees apply automatically and are separate from any voluntary warranty offered by Container Sales Australia.

Nothing in this Warranty Policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

2. Voluntary Warranty Coverage

Unless a different warranty period is specifically stated on the relevant product page, invoice, quotation, or other written agreement:

New Products

New products supplied by Container Sales Australia are covered by a 30-day limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, commencing from the date of delivery.

Used Products

Used and second-hand products do not have a separate voluntary Container Sales Australia warranty unless a specific warranty is stated in writing.

Used products remain subject to any applicable consumer guarantees and rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

The absence or expiry of a voluntary warranty does not remove any consumer guarantee rights that may continue to apply under Australian law.

3. What the Voluntary Warranty Covers

Where applicable, the 30-day voluntary warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship that:

  • Were present at the time of delivery; or

  • Occur during the warranty period as a result of a manufacturing or workmanship defect; and

  • Affect the normal intended operation of the product.

The warranty does not apply to issues caused by circumstances outside the normal intended use of the product.

4. What the Voluntary Warranty Does Not Cover

Unless required otherwise by the Australian Consumer Law, the voluntary warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear.

  • Cosmetic marks, dents, scratches, surface rust, paint imperfections, or similar cosmetic characteristics that were disclosed or are consistent with the product’s age and condition.

  • Damage caused by misuse, abuse, neglect, accidents, or improper use.

  • Damage caused by incorrect installation.

  • Damage caused by unauthorised alterations or modifications.

  • Damage caused by repairs carried out by unauthorised persons.

  • Damage occurring after delivery due to relocation, handling, weather exposure, flooding, fire, or other external events.

  • Damage caused by unsuitable site conditions.

  • Damage resulting from failure to follow applicable installation, operating, maintenance, or safety instructions.

Nothing in this section limits any rights or remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law.

5. Warranty Claim Requirements

To make a claim under the voluntary warranty, customers should contact us as soon as reasonably practicable after identifying the issue.

Please provide:

  • Your full name.

  • Order number or invoice number.

  • Proof of purchase.

  • Product details.

  • A description of the problem.

  • Clear photographs or videos showing the issue where applicable.

  • Any other information reasonably required to assess the claim.

We may request additional information or arrange an inspection before determining the appropriate remedy.

Providing photographs and other information helps us assess claims efficiently but does not prevent you from exercising any rights available under the Australian Consumer Law.

6. How to Make a Warranty Claim

Warranty claims can be submitted using the following contact details:

Container Sales Australia

Address:
42 Enterprise Circuit
Maryborough West QLD 4650
Australia

Phone: 0427 000 222

Email: support@containersalesaustralia.com

Please include “Warranty Claim” in the subject line of your email where possible.

7. Assessment of Claims

Once a warranty claim is received, we may assess the product and the circumstances surrounding the issue.

We may:

  • Request photographs or videos.

  • Request additional information.

  • Arrange an inspection.

  • Arrange an assessment by a supplier, manufacturer, technician, or other appropriate person.

  • Determine whether the issue falls within the voluntary warranty.

We will assess claims reasonably and in accordance with applicable Australian law.

8. Repairs, Replacement and Refunds

Where a valid voluntary warranty claim is established, we may, depending on the circumstances:

  • Repair the product.

  • Replace the product or affected component.

  • Provide another appropriate remedy.

Where the Australian Consumer Law requires a particular remedy, we will provide the remedy required by law.

A voluntary warranty does not limit or replace the consumer’s rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

9. Warranty Expenses

Where a claim is accepted under the voluntary warranty, Container Sales Australia will be responsible for reasonable expenses associated with providing the applicable warranty remedy, subject to the circumstances of the claim and applicable law.

If you believe you have incurred reasonable costs because of a failure covered by the Australian Consumer Law, please contact us and provide details and supporting documentation.

10. Used and Second-Hand Products

Used shipping containers and equipment may show signs of previous use, including:

  • Dents.

  • Scratches.

  • Surface rust.

  • Paint fading.

  • Repairs.

  • General cosmetic wear.

Where applicable, relevant condition information will be disclosed before or at the time of purchase.

Disclosed characteristics of a used product do not automatically constitute a defect. However, used products remain subject to applicable consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.

11. Warranty Period

Unless otherwise stated in writing:

New Products: 30-day voluntary warranty from the date of delivery.

The expiry of the voluntary warranty does not necessarily mean that all consumer guarantee rights have expired. Consumer guarantees operate separately from voluntary warranties and may continue for a reasonable period depending on the product and circumstances.

12. Transfer of Warranty

The voluntary warranty applies to the original purchaser unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Any request to transfer a voluntary warranty to another owner must be approved by Container Sales Australia in writing.

This does not affect any consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or transferred under applicable law.

13. No Exclusion of Consumer Guarantees

This Warranty Policy does not exclude, restrict, or modify the consumer guarantees provided by the Australian Consumer Law.

Consumer guarantees are automatic and cannot be removed simply because a voluntary warranty has expired or because a product is outside the voluntary warranty period.

14. Mandatory Australian Consumer Law Notice

This notice applies in addition to any voluntary warranty provided by Container Sales Australia.
